Lists which we do not need the list of cool NME

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

Punctual as the time this is the autumn of NME Cool List for 2008. Who you are inside the 50 positions? Un po ‘di hard to say the truth: indie rocker gone to sonororità’60s, and immortal Rediviva rapper and young girls and provocative. To scroll all the 50 positions I refer you to the site nme.com but the top ten positions are different confirmations and some surprises not glaring.

The podium where the divide Andrew VanWyngarden the frontmaan of MGMT in third place, the now immortal and ubiquitous Jay-Z and the first Canadian singer of Crystal Castles Alice Glass.

The 20 best bands of the Big Apple as the NY Press

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

I know that for the first draw up lists of best band of a certain period or a certain place is a job, if not useless, at least one least arbitrary. Even this list is not immune from the very thing but I think interesting because it is dedicated to the music of New York. And we all know what has been and continues to be the Big Apple nerve center both in influence and music production.

The list is drawn from the New York Press a weekly that is credited as the main competitors of the Village Voice.

The disk Carla Bruni ago flop in France

The disk Carla Bruni ago flop in France., News, Standings, carla brown, comme si de rien n\'était, flop, parisien, nicolas sarkozy, premiere dame

Scrivendone’s review our Dodo had defined the last album Carla Bruni “Comme si de rien n’était” less intimate and exciting “Quelqu’un m’a dit” and less ambitious “No promises.”

The French must have thought exactly the same way if, as reported some of the major newspapers transalpine, the disc was an audible and decided commercial flop: 165mila of copies distributed in stores today they are sold for just under half, about 80mila.

These are hard times (musically speaking) therefore for Premiere Dame de France, which since debut in 2002 to today has lost a lot of fans.

Whether it is high time for you to hang headphones and guitar to nail? The newspaper “Le Parisien” impietosamente compared the sales figures of 3 albums made by Brown and highlighted a cast to peak, clear and constant: the first work was a best-seller and sold something like 2 million copies in the country, by shouting to the miracle.

Cluster: outside from X-Factor, early on I-Tunes

This morning the disc of Cluster appeared as the No.1 best-selling album in Italy on I-Tunes. Returns from famous TV programme X-Factor, eliminated last week and idolatrati by their “godfather” Morgan, the boys know we really do.

They are distinct in the talent-show for voice talents, the technique but also the originality el’eclettismo in the songs. Maybe they were not suited to win a program that seeks the pop star of the future but certainly have been one of the best surprises: “the best of all,” not only the second Morgan.

Who knows, maybe after a few unsuccessful attempts as the transmission Pop Star (someone still remembers the Lollipop?) And format from questionable value-quality music (like me), the setting of X-Factor can really represent a new way to launch real talents, regardless of who wins the race? However, for the Cluster is working and not just for sales.

In a few days is outlining a cartel of concerts, at the request of local festivals and various kinds and extraction, from rock to jazz: Updates on the dates (and some song listening) on myspace band. Meanwhile, the songs on I-Tunes sell very well, although we have no major behind. Some record company you will find them?

Above all - beyond the fact that they are gaining recognition through media exposure of a television program - to make good music, pay? There is still wish and desire to buy music as it should be done and not only commercial? We hope that it is really so, and yet more than ever.
