Saturday, October 4th, 2008

Abstract: This article will try not to make comparisons between Freddie Mercury and Paul Rodgers because it is all too obvious that the real Queen remain those with Freddie. It will be an injury? They are also always been a big band from individuals by large album.

End of the premises. But no. The question we must ask ourselves now is: have a sense the Queen in 2008?

The Verve: “Forth” - The Review

\"Forth\" - The Review., Rock, Reviews, forth review, review, the verve

A little less than a month from the album, here is your review of “Forth” by The Verve. Songs lasting more than 6 minutes, a fascinating and captivating instrumental stordente. A rock that wants to pop that wants to be glossy, but it is not until the end. Do not get the first listen, you ensorcelle so insane in the audience later.

It ‘an album that will accommodate music on a rather hackneyed that no impact to the bottom of the listener making it official. Here is the insanity of disco: it’s an experience to act, difficult to repeat, like a beautiful film that has nothing exceptional that it is worth reviewing in individual scenes.

It remains suspended. A strong point is certainly the beautiful voice of Richard Ashcroft and the power of charm of a piece like “Love is noise,” track too commercial for those who love the more psychedelic soul of the band and crew. Fourth album, attempted reunion not to throw away, you’ve made a step forward, as the title. But we expected more miles after 10 years of waiting.

unexpected worldwide success., Sales data, kings of leon, only by the night, Rock ,CD Sales

We had already talked about the prolific Kings Of Leon to present the first single, “Sex On Fire” From the stretch, just come out, “Only By The Night.” The Kings Of Leon are not sure of the unknown, already their previous album, “Because Of The Times” has sold nearly 1 million copies worldwide (estimate worldwidealbums) of which 480,000 in England (as musicweek), but a few were expecting the “boom” in sales this week that they were catapulted to No.

In the USA album, as planned Hits Daily Double debut album in top5 with about 80,000 copies, almost double what they come to n.25 “Because Of The Times” a year ago. So a huge growth somewhat ‘everywhere, including Italy, because for the first are the Kings Of Leon in the charts even by us, to the position 75. If we add the fact that the growing band of successful album after album (U2, REM, Red Hot Chili Peppers) are those that last longer, we could hear them for a long, long time.

Red Hot Chili Peppers, two-year break., red hot chili peppers, Video , Rock, Funk

Flea, bassist brilliant tightrope walker and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, said in a recent interview for the Los Angeles Times (The full interview can be found here) that the band is taking a break and not write anything new for two years . This confirms and expands what was already stated in May, the frontman Anthony Kiedis, in an interview with Rolling Stone where announced that the band was paused for at least a year. Of course, the Peppers have always used a long time between album and the other (four years for example, among By The Way and Stadium Arcadium), but this time it seems that, at present, the desire to return to make music together that is less in the past.

At this point it would be desirable that after the planetary success of the last album (over 30 million records sold only with the last three studio discs), the band return to experience as the beginning of his career, when, together with other groups, open l ‘Was the funk-metal, the rap-rock and, in general, part of the alternative rock that mark indelibly all 90s.

The Rasmus return with \"Black Roses\"., New CD, Video ,Rock, Pop, black roses, living in a world without you, the rasmus

Remember the The Rasmus? That group were Finnish passenger who had a great success in Europe on horseback between 2003 and 2004 thanks to ‘album “Dead Letters” and especially thanks to the single “In The Shadow,” a real blockbuster. Later came with the album “Hide From The Sun” which draws on the sounds of the previous “Dead Letters” but that failed to minimally bisse success, the band away from high rotation radio and television.

Now the band is ready to post their seventh disc (started early and were more interesting today) titled “Black Roses” due out September 26 in Europe for Playground Music. The choice of the individual launch fell on “Living In A World Without You”, a piece that is truly difficult to find a trace of rock, summed up in a “Savane Garden” that cross the Linkin Park more melodic. After the jump we propose the official video of the song.

Death Magnetic, a successful global sales (data)., Rock, Metal, Sales data, death magnetic, metallic

No one questioned that the new album of Metallica, “Death Magnetic” (which we reviewed recently and with great feedback) could collect a good success but few probably would have expected a success of such proportions. The album is, according to the authoritative site Mediatraffic, in the first week has sold more than 800,000 copies worldwide (most of the “Hard Candy” by Madonna for instance) whereas that in some rankings entered after just two day of trading, the news takes on even greater dimensions.

Looking in more detail you find that in the U.S. (where the previous St.Anger his debut with 360,000 copies) the album has sold 490 thousand, 81 thousand in Canada (SoundScan data), England 75,000 (MusicWeek) and Japan 47,000 ( Oricon) by making disc incetta already platinum, based on copies distributed, some ‘everywhere. In Italy, the album has yet to debut in the standings, but is virtually certain that will be directly to 1, thereby taking the throne that was for 11 weeks of Giusy Ferreri.

Although it is often the case, it is not always true that high on music charts are of little value, but who knows what they think the same Metallica that for years have tried to fight piracy of music, and without losing an inch of the public for this reason , Are selling so incredible. Today more than yesterday.

The new album U2 postponed to 2009

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

The new album U2 postponed to 2009., New record, Rock, new album, U2

It was one of the most eagerly awaited music album of the year, but it seems fans of U2 will have to wait for the first months of 2009 to hear the new job of Bono and members. Indeed, despite the recent annuci, a post appeared on the site U2.

com the same Bono wrote that short time ago I thought that this’ hours would have been ready, but why leave out hours when abiamo yet precious material to be explored? We know that we have to hurry, but we also know that the public does not want a new album U2 unless it is our best album.

It must be the most innovative, the most competitive […] the material on which we work hours is roughly the same as what has led us to “The Joshua Tree” and “Achtung Baby” […] we want is our 2009 years Maybe, add their fans, perhaps even reaching the heights of the two albums mentioned.

I, however, as I have an impression different, only a feeling: it will not be mica that, given the extraordinary success of Coldplay, U2 have delayed the album for their lack of aggressive competitors in the standings? You who do you think?

A dedicated site on musical events in history has proposed a survey among its visitors: “Who would like to bring back to life for a concert?”. Nothing like zombies or robe, of course: the question concerned the concert so we would like to see but that is no longer possible.

It will also be on the success of the recent reunion of Led Zeppelin, the fact is that the place is the first result (a little ’surprise) John “Bonzo” Bonham, drummer of Led historical disappeared just 28 years ago. The list completes found after the jump. Below are instead the top-ten finish: I bet that readers of the Soundsblog revolutionise a little.
